Van won't start, battery or alternator? — Automotive

Work van wouldn't start this morning, tried jump starting off my other car and it ran fine for about ten minutes then died again the second I disconnected the jump leads. My guess is the alternator's not charging but honestly not confident enough to just replace parts blindly.
